Frequently Asked Questions

How long is each session?

Each session is 45-55 minutes.

Couples sessions may be 60 or 90 minutes.

How often are sessions?

I suggest starting off on a weekly basis, but everyone has different scheduling and financial needs so if weekly isn’t possible, we will find what best meets your needs!

Do you accEpt insurance?

Currently insurance is not accepted. However, I do offer a sliding scale fee and am happy to work with each client to ensure that finances are not a barrier to receiving mental health services. I can also offer a superbill for you to submit to insurance.

How much does counseling cost?

A full session rate is $140 for individual counseling. For marriage counseling, the rate is $220. However, sliding scale is available. Please call for further financial needs.

What paperwork is required?

After our initial consultation call and an appointment is scheduled, I will email you the intake paperwork that you will fill out and return to me before our first session. A copy of your driver’s license will also be requested.

What ages do you see?

I accept clients ages 18 and above.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Georgia.

I am also Gottman Level 1 trained, and scheduled for the Level 2 training.

will our sessions remain confidential?

Yes. If disclosures from our sessions need to be made, it will only be after a signed release of information is obtained and directed to a specific party (i.e. psychiatrist, attorney, etc.) related to a specific topic.

Limitations to confidentiality include past or current abuse or neglect to children, adults, or elders, as well as legal requirements of disclosure, and therapists concern for imminent threat to safety to the client or others. All efforts will be made to inform client before confidential disclosure is made.

Can you prescribe medication?

No, but I will be happy to refer you to a reputable, trusted psychiatric provider in your area.

Will tHerapy work?

That is the goal! But every person has different needs and goals in counseling. The most important piece is a trusted, secure relationship between client and therapist. If you don’t feel this therapeutic relationship is best for you, then I will do whatever possible to find you a better fit.

Sessions are based upon the needs of the individual. We will work towards your stated goals together, frequently checking in to assess progress and redefine treatment interventions and goals as necessary. It’s also important to note, that like anything else, you get out what you are willing to put in.

How do I know I need counseling?

Well, you’re here looking at this page (or someone you love is looking for you!). If you feel any less than your best self, are struggling with daily tasks of life or having healthy relationships (to name a few), it may be time to ask for help. And that is okay!! Making the call is the hardest step, but that is the best thing that you can do for yourself to walk towards healing.

What if i don’t like telehealth?

We will work together to find you an in person therapist wherever you are located. But don’t be afraid to try telehealth!

If you are local to Fayetteville, then join me in the office!
